Becky Bliss is a Wellington based designer and artist who is now working as a jewellery maker after completing a Bachelor of Applied Arts at Whitireia Community Polytechnic in 2010.

From 2011-2013, she was part of the Handshake project. This two year commitment, designed to provide mentorship for emerging jewellery artists, saw Bliss working with the Italian contemporary jewellery artist Fabrizio Tridenti and developing a body of experimental work using combinations of traditional materials, found materials and constructed materials such as her plaster resin.

She says of her work: “I love the juxtaposition of seemingly unrelated shapes, colours and materials. When they are put together I find they spark an emotional response in people depending on their own personal histories.”

Bliss has exhibited extensively in New Zealand and also in Portugal, Germany and the USA.
